The top holds a lamp and a book side by side rather than balanced on each other; the rest goes inside. They also work as a low table beside an armchair. Every collection has one.
What fits on it
A nightstand has one job: to hold the things you reach for in the dark. A lamp, a glass of water, glasses, a book, a charger. The top can be small, but it should be steady enough not to go over when an elbow finds it on waking. A drawer underneath takes the odds and ends that would otherwise stay on show.
Height beside the bed
It works best when the top sits at roughly mattress height — no reaching up, no groping around below. Because beds differ in height from collection to collection, a nightstand from the same collection is the simplest way to make the two agree.
One on each side
In a room shared by siblings, two identical nightstands between the beds, or one on the outer side of each, tidy the layout and give each child somewhere of their own for their own things — which often matters more than the space itself.
Finish and collections
The nightstands are furniture board with an antibacterial and hypoallergenic coating, some with metal legs or handles. Every collection has one, from Frozen and SpiderMan to Siena, Irony and Vintage Mode, so the nightstand usually chooses itself — along with the bed.
Common questions
How tall should a nightstand be?
It works best when the top sits at roughly mattress height — no reaching up, no groping around below. Because beds differ in height from collection to collection, a nightstand from the same collection is the simplest way to make the two agree.
Is a nightstand necessary?
If the child reads before sleep, drinks water at night or charges a phone by the bed — yes, because otherwise all of it ends up on the floor. In a very small room a narrow wall shelf above the bed can take the role instead.
Two nightstands in a shared room?
Two identical ones between the beds, or one on the outer side of each, tidy the layout and give each child somewhere of their own for their own things — which often matters more than the space itself.
